Since 1995, David, who is not a lawyer but a private practice divorce mediator, has worked with families of every lifestyle, socioeconomic, ethnic, and professional background across Atlantic Canada and beyond. Having mediated numerous divorce settlements no matter how straight forward or complex,
he works to avoid the potential for costly, destructive conflict, if pursued through the litigation process.
David has worked in the field of dispute resolution and mental health services for 2 national healthcare providers for over 15 years, and is the former President of the Board for the Ontario Association of Family Mediators (OAFM), and Board member for Family Mediation Canada (FMC). Amongst the various influences he has brought to the field of divorce mediation, David participated in the formation of the Child Support Guidelines in place today.
David is a Commissioner for the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, is a member of the Association of the Family and Conciliation Courts, Family Mediation Canada (FMC), the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation, and the Alternaive Dispute Resolution Atlantic Insitute. As well, David isthe Chairman of the Board for Dalhousie University public radio CKDU, and member of the Advisory Committee for the Halifax Chamber of Commerce.
